Those involved in internal quality assurance processes and procedures to comply with awarding body standards. Applicants will also be involved in assessing the validity and integrity of assessment in: • Work-based vocational qualifications • Apprenticeships and new standards • Moderated learner work • General examined and assignment-based work • Portfolio and course-based learner work
Applicants should have some knowledge and experience of assessment policies, practices and procedures within educational institutions or private training provision. They will be vocationally competent in the area they wish to assess and should have a Level 3 in their specified subject.
This qualification is for practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/organisation and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.
Units 401 402 403:
401 - Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
An assignment based unit that allows the student to explain the knowledge they have of the internal quality assurance process.
402 - Internally assure the quality of assessment
For practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation, by sample planning, monitoring and advising on the practice of assessors.
403 - Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
For practioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/organisation and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.
Cost of this course is £811.
Learners will produce a knowledge-based assignment to cover unit 401 and a portfolio of evidence for units 402/403. This will all be internally verified and externally verified by City & Guilds.
