About Computing

Computing opens the door to the IT industry.

You’ll develop programming, networking, web development, graphics and computer systems to industry standards when you study our specialist courses designed to meet your career aspirations. This is your opportunity for university and career progression. Not only will you gain vital experience and skills for the software development industry, you’ll gain an insight into diverse technologies. You could even become one of UK gaming’s ones to watch as an up-and-coming game creator! That’s why every year around 95% of our Computing students progress to the university course of their choice.

How will I learn?

You’ll work with employers on live software development projects and produce coursework based on real life or work situations, like our app design team of students inspired by their course lectures. The students formed a design team, organising committee meetings every week and preparing flow charts. They also had to learn new languages, including Java, to be able to create their app.

Our teaching is linked to current tech trends with live examples, so you produce your own plans and take on project manager tasks in group challenges. You can take part in competitions judged by local business owners and trips to add to your learning experience, plus there’s a full programme of guest speakers to enhance your digital knowledge.
