Law and Practice (subject to final approval)

Law and Practice (subject to final approval)

HNC/HND/BA (Hons) Degree

Awarded by Coventry University

Why choose this course?

Law & Practice BA (Hons) Degree combines the traditional theoretical approach to learning the law with a strong emphasis on how the law works in the real world of legal practice. The course focuses on the core legal subjects of Crime, Contract, Tort, Land Law, Public Law, Equity and European Union Law, but extends the area of study to include subjects offered by other institutions only as optional. The degree also places huge emphasis on less traditional practice modules, where the skills and knowledge learned will provide you with skills sought by employers and will help prepare you for additional professional qualifications. We embed the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) professional qualifications into all our academic programmes, leading to a recognised professional qualification. Your degree will provide you with a stepping stone to the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), which permits progress onto the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Bar Practice Training.

Coventry University has an excellent reputation for providing degrees that are relevant to the world of work. We want every single student to gain the relevant skills and knowledge that will help them secure employment in their chosen profession.

No End of Year Examinations

We’ve moved away from end of year exams to more modern assessment techniques which take place during each 6-week module. You only study one module at a time, allowing you to give each assignment your full attention.

Our tariff entry requirements are not as high as many other institutions. We know that many of our students have had other priorities in their lives but still have the ability and determination to succeed. Entry requirements are:

64 UCAS tariff points. All courses require 5 GCSEs at A-C including Maths and English.

80 UCAS tariff points. All courses require 5 GCSEs at A-C including Maths and English.

BA (Hons) Degree
