Applicants should have either:
BTEC First Qualifications (merit grades) in related subjects backed by GCSE English and Maths grade A*- C, or
at least 4 GCSEs at grades A*- C including GCSE English and Maths.
This course is made up of 6 units - four mandatory core units that everyone takes, and two specialist units, so you can study particular areas in more depth. The four core units are: The Business Environment, Business Resources, Introduction to Marketing, and Business Communication.
There will also be an opportunity to complete a work experience placement.
Various trips and activities are arranged during the programme. We organise UCAS workshops that focus on choosing university courses, writing personal statements, completing UCAS applications and student finance. We also organise trips to various universities and Higher Education conventions.
All units are assessed and graded using a variety of work based assessment methods and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
You may progress to the 120 Credit Diploma in Business which is equivalent to 2 A levels. This course awards UCAS points, which allow you to apply to Higher Education (university). In addition, Sandwell College offers the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business and, in association with the University of Wolverhampton, the Foundation Degree in Business Management.
