Acceptance on to an apprenticeship is subject to a satisfactory interview and college assessment.
All candidates will also need to secure a work placement prior to commencing an Apprenticeship. The college can assist you with this by offering you the opportunity to attend an interview with a local employer who is willing to take on an Apprentice, or you may find your own work placement.
The Intermediate Apprenticeship takes 18 months to complete.
In addition to training for up to four days a week in your work placement, you attend college once a week. College assessors will assess your practical skills in the hairdressing salon. Classroom teaching is conducted by lecturers qualified up to Level 4 standard and experienced in working in hairdressing salons.
Assessments will take place both in the work place with qualified Assessor/Trainers and also within the College’s hairdressing salons. Written exams are online and marked externally, while written projects are marked internally.
Hairdressing apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining full-time employment.
