Travel and Tourism Diploma Level 2
Who is this course for?
This one-year course is mainly for school leavers aged 16+. A Level 2 qualification in Travel and Tourism is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade C and gives learners a more detailed look at the industry.
Formal Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grades D-E, including English. Prospective learners will need to be assessed on their level of Maths and English, and attend an interview with the course tutor. Learners should demonstrate an interest and desire to work in the Travel and Tourism industry.
What does the course involve?
The course is split into several distinct units involving theoretical and practical elements, to give an interesting and exciting mix of classroom activities and practical assessments.
The main programme includes units of study on UK Travel and Tourism, Customer Service in Travel, and Understanding the Nature and Effects of World Travel.
You will also study one Functional Skill to improve your employability (Maths, English or ICT).
We run trips and visits to tourist attractions in the UK and abroad. Recent trips include Goa and Turkey.
How will I be assessed?
All assessments are through coursework, role plays, presentation and practical skills.

You will be surprised at the vast amount of careers available within this growing sector. After successfully completing this course, you can go on to study any Level 3 qualification – in particular the Travel and Tourism Level 3 Extended Diploma. Alternatively you could begin your career in the travel and tourism industry.
