Who is this course for?
This one-year evening course is designed for professionals, unemployed people with ambitions to work in the beauty industry, or people with a general interest in make-up artistry and manicure.

What does the course involve?
The course includes theory, anatomy and physiology sessions, and practical skills carried out in a realistic working environment. The units covered include health and safety, client care and communication, make-up instruction and application, and manicure. A wide spectrum of resources and materials are used for teaching and learning. All staff are highly qualified, friendly, supportive and maintain a high standard of professionalism.

How will I be assessed?
Individual performance will be assessed through internal and external written assessments, word processed assignments, oral questioning and practical skills. Teaching and learning materials are accessible on the Virtual College site, which can be accessed from home.
Where can I go next?
Upon successful completion you will have the opportunity to progress to Beauty NVQ Level 2 and 3. You could then pursue career options in beauty therapy, beauty sales, media and photographic work as well as worldwide travel working on board cruise liners, or teaching and assessing in the field of education.
