Apprenticeship Grant

Are you:

  • Interested in hiring an apprentice?
  • A small-medium sized employer with fewer than 250 employees?
  • Hiring an apprentice for the first time?
Yes? If you tick all the boxes, you could get a grant for £1,500 to help you recruit your first apprentice – and up to £4,500 if you take on three!

The AGE 16 to 24 grant of £1,500 is available until March 2013 for eligible employers who recruit one or more apprentices aged 16-24 for the first time.
Whether the apprentices you hire are just leaving school, have already been working or are seeking a new career – as long as they are living in England and not taking part in full-time education, they are eligible.
The £1,500 is in addition to training costs, which are met in full for young people aged 16 to 18 and 50% for those aged 19 to 24, and up to three grants can be made to any one employer.*
