Who is this course for?
This is a competence-based course, developing basic skills in Setting, Operation and Programming along with basic skills in the use of CAM. It is aimed at those who are training, working or looking to gain new skills on CNC Machine tools.
Formal Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements, however basic machining skills and knowledge are necessary, and admittance to the course will be by informal interview with the tutor.
What does the course involve?
The course includes:
Safety and introduction to CNC machine tools
Drawing and documentation
Data input/program writing ISO code (milling and turning)
Proving and operation
Basic cam milling profiles, pockets and holes.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by assignments and class tests.
Where can I go next?
You could progress on to a CAM Level 3 course.
