Who is this course for?
We have a range of courses to suit everyone who wants to learn or improve their English and get more out of life in the UK. We can also prepare learners to progress into further study, improve their CV, or apply to become a British Citizen.
Formal Entry Requirements
You will do an assessment to find out your current level of English for speaking, listening, reading and writing. This tells us the areas you need to develop.
What does the course involve?
There are very short courses for beginners and longer courses for people who already know some English.
All of our courses for adults will help you to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing.
As your English gets better, you can also do:
• Employability / Work Skills
• Work Experience
• ICT (Computer Skills)
• Personal and Social Development (PSD)
• Science (optional)
• Art (optional).
How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed by your teacher throughout the programme. When you are ready you can sit exams and gain nationally recognised qualifications. You will also have the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications in ICT/Computers, Mathematics, Personal Development and other areas.
Where can I go next?
We offer courses at all levels from Beginner to Intermediate. Whether you want to look for work, become part of the community or go on to study another course, we will do our best to equip you with what you need to succeed. Successful students move on to one of the College's vocational courses, move to Functional Skills English and Maths or GCSE courses, and go into employment training or employment.
