When completed, the new college will include an automotive centre, beauty and hairdressing salons, computer suites, construction workshops, engineering laboratories, fashion and photography studios, restaurant kitchens, a sports hall and a theatre. Trainee Dental Nurses will practise in an imitation surgery, while Travel & Tourism students will train in a mock-up aircraft cabin. That's great training for the future!

The Black Country will have a brand new college in 2011, when Sandwell College moves to a striking modern building in West Bromwich, accommodating up to 10,000 full and part-time students. The new building will stand out for miles around, and will be clearly visible from the M5. "This is really important," says Scott Upton, who is a college Vice-Principal. "We need people to see that things are changing around here in a big way. So, the new college will act like a beacon, showing people that they do have opportunities to improve their prospects and become qualified for life."
